Los Angeles, Calif. – The baseball team started off the season with its third straight win, a 5-4 win over Occidental with the game-winning RBI double coming off the bat of sophomore catcher Rob Raux (Ilion/ Frankfort) in the ninth inning.

Raux went three-for-four with a home run, two doubles and three RBI’s. Senior shortstop Rob Litz (Walkill/Walkill) went three-for-five while scoring two runs. Sophomore third baseman Josh Smith (Pulaski/ Pulaski) added an RBI single in the fifth for the Bombers’ first run.

The Bombers will look to match their best start to a season since the 1976 team started 9-0 when they play at Chapman Thursday.
